The Substance Abuse, Legal aid, Violence, and HIV/AIDS (SALVA) application (app) is the first bilingual (English/Spanish) mobile health (mHealth) app designed to serve as a tool that links community members to local services/resources related to Substance Abuse, Legal aid, Violence, HIV/AIDS, and many other services for in-need communities. SALVA provides a comprehensive list of community services/resources. The Center for Research on US Latino, HIV/AIDS, and Drug Abuse (CRUSADA), Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work, and Florida International University (FIU) (collectively FIU) have gathered information about services and resources that may be helpful to community members. SALVA is intended to be a living breathing tool that is continuously evolving in order to keep up with the needs of the communities and the availability of services being offered by local resources/agencies. However, FIU has not done any due diligence on any of these services, and therefore, cannot make any statement about the quality of the services organizations may provide.
SALVA is not intended to be a referral by FIU to any of the services listed in the app, but rather, intended to be a reference tool that empowers community members in search of local services, as well as aid in the efficiency of community leaders, stakeholders, agencies, and all those who serve to promote health and wellness in their communities.
Should you have any questions, comments, or complaints about the services provided by the organizations listed in SALVA, you must speak directly to the service provider. If you have any question or comments regarding the use of this app, you may contact:
