University Mobile Privacy Policy Statement:
In order to develop targeted content for the FIU visitor, the university collects personally unidentifiable information such as: browser type and version, the operating system of the device, the Internet Service Provider used to connect to the Internet, the pages in the app accessed, the links accessed, buttons pressed and third-party apps opened during a visitor session.
The SALVA app may also employ “cookies and sessions,” which allows to better tailor the content of the app to a visitor’s specific browsing needs. The cookies and session used on the SALVA app contain no personally identifiable information unless that information is provided directly via site form, survey or other opt-in method. While a Web browser does not need to have cookies enabled to browse SALVA, specific site features may require that cookies are enabled.
Personal Information Collection:
the FIU SALVA mobile health application does not collect, rent, sell, or share any of the following information:
- Location Information You must first provide permission through your device before SALVA obtains location information from technologies like GPS, Wi-Fi, or cell tower proximity. You are able to withdraw your permission for SALVA to acquire location information from your device using your device settings. SALVA uses the information from within the app only to display your physical location on maps and display distances from certain locations.
Push Notifications:
We may request to send you push notifications regarding community events, services, resources relevant to the use of SALVA, to community health. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.
Third Party Apps, Links, and Widgets:
Third party apps, links, and widgets may also set cookies. Please note that third parties’ use of cookies and information that you provide to them is subject to their own privacy policies, and not the SALVA Privacy Policy.

This information may change as Florida International University revises this service by adding or removing features or using different content providers.
